Karta, aka Ibolya E. Laar is a Board Certified Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) by the National Commission for Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). She completed The Master of Science in Acupuncture (MSAc) program at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) New York campus, the biggest acupuncture college in the US. This four year full time graduate program consists of 3,800 hours of theory and clinical application of the theory which includes practice with the general patient population. In this program where East meets West, students study the theory of Asian medicine and learn to apply in practice different modalities, such as Tui Na (a Chinese style bodywork), cupping, moxibustion and electric stimulation to mention only a few, in addition to a firm foundation in Western Medicine including anatomy, physiology, etiology of diseases, pathophysiology, clinical sciences, clinical researching, biophysics, orthopedic assessment, physical examination pharmacology, as well as hands on assessment and treatment of both Eastern and Western techniques of all of the above. In addition, Karta has earned her license in Massage Therapy as well (L.M.T.) Last but not least, Karta has an extensive focus on self-cultivation, promotion of health and longevity which also cultivates her inner virtues such as self-esteem and personal integrity through the practice Kundalini Yoga for the past fourteen years in the hopes of reaching a higher conscious awareness and balanced emotional functioning at her deepest level. The practice of this self-cultivating discipline is the distinguishing factor of her healing arts.
