Chinese bodywork pronounced (twee-nah)
What is Tui Na?
It is a form of Chinese bodywork originally documented in the classics 2,500 years ago. Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners incorporate Tuina massage into their practice to enhance the efficacy of the treatment. It can be used in addition to acupuncture treatments, or it can be used as a stand-alone treatment of disharmonies. Tuina is very effective to eliminate stress and promote overall wellbeing. It is based on the same principals as acupuncture. By applying pressure to specific points or meridians the practitioner removes blockages that prevent the flow of qi. By removing the blockages balance will be restored leading to improved health and vitality.
What does Tuina treat?
Tuina is very effective in eliminating chronic pain syndromes. It is also one of the best techniques to eliminate stress or stress related disorders, such as digestive issues, asthma, menstrual cramps, headaches, constipation, allergies, sleep issues, nervousness, agitation and much more. After treatment some patients may experience drowsiness or euphoria.
How should I prepare for the session?
Each session is performed on the massage table fully clothed. I recommend wearing natural fiber clothing that also has the ability to stretch. It is best if the shirt has a rounded neckline with no collar and slim stretchy pants.
